New Naruto Games!

Some exciting news has been announced in the anime-game crossover world – especially if you’re a Naruto fan! 2 Naruto games have been announced. Granted it’s only be announced for Japan, but I’m sure will be available for the whole world soon enough.

Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker

The first game is completely brand new. It promises to be an “acrobatic ninja battle game” in a new graphic engine which allows up to 4 players on 1 team (meaning a total of 8 players on the battlefield). It seems very open-world-esque where you use your environment to your advantage and characters can use their ninjutsu from the manga/anime. So far, only 8 characters have been revealed – Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Kakashi Hatake and some members of the Akatsuki – including Itachi Uchiha, Kisame Hoshigaki, Pain and Konan.

No release date has been announced for Japan and currently their website is a test page (although rumours are floating around that it will be fully furbished sometime next week – possibly the 12th April). It will be available on all platforms, but people outside of Japan will most likely have to wait the longest.

Naruto Ninja Storm Trilogy

OK, so this may not be quite as exciting as Shinobi Striker, but the first 3 Ninja Storm games are coming to the PS4 platform, along with its DLC which will complete the collection if you bought Ninja Storm 4 on PS4. It is unknown as this point if the trilogy will also be available on PC and Xbox.

The Ninja Storm Trilogy will be released in Japan on 27th July but no release date for countries outside of Japan, but I’m sure it will definitely be available for us! It’s a shame if don’t buy them in Japan either – those who preorder will get a code for the Boruto anime at the upcoming Jump festival while those who get the retail version will receive a free poster!

Keep an eye out on these games as I’m sure they will be released to Europe and America soon enough. Hopefully this is one step closer to a full open world Naruto game where you play as your own character made from scratch with story and side missions galore!
